Is Friday night your movie night? Well, here's a few ideas to help with your planning.
The Hills Have Eyes 2 - The sequel to the creepy The Hills Have Eyes from last year, Hills 2 picks up where its predecessor left off and the weird evil begins again. A National Guard unit picks up a distress signal in the mountains and set out to investigate. But these are the Hills that the terrorized Carter family visited in Hills 1 and the cannibalistic freaky people are still alive and well. Rated R for being completely horrifying.
The Last Mimzy - Okay, I'm dying to see this one. Two kiddos discover a strange box that contains what appear to be cool toys. But the toys aren't really "toys" and the kids begin to show signs of higher intelligence. While parents and teachers are running around trying to figure things out, the government gets wind of the objects due to the enormous power source they project. Mimzy it turns out is part electronic, part organic and brings word from the future. What's going on? That's what every sci-fi fan wants to know. Rated PG.
TMNT - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fans rejoice! Here's your next live-action feature! The last time we saw the Turtles, they had sent their arch-enemy Shredder packing. Unfortunately, since then, the Turtles have grown apart and Master Splinter (the large rat sensei) struggles to hold things together. But worry not... weird things begin to happen in New York City and the Turtles, despite their differences, realize they're the only ones who can save the day. Rated PG.
Reign Over Me - Don Cheadle and Adam Sandler star in this look at the aftermath of 9/11 and how it affected individual families. Two college roomies (Don and Adam) meet up again after years apart. One has lost his family in 9/11 and has withdrawn - the other is overwhelmed by personal and professional responsibilities. The result is that the two rekindle the friendship and draw on each other for strength.
