Who Said That?TV Land Shows Us the Top 100 Catch Phrases from TelevisionWhere's the beef? That's only one of one hundred great catch phrases that we've gotten from television and TV Land Cable Network is going to show them all.
Some phrases are inspirational: "Ask not what your country can do for you..." Others are just a bit more light-hearted: "Dyn-O-Mite!" But regardless of how silly or stogy the phrase might have been, those few words became staples of our language. Who can forget Fonzie's "Aaay"? Homer Simpson's "D'oh!". Or of course, the ever popular, "hey, hey, hey!" Phrases that started out as nothing more than a line on a script were transformed into trademarks, personal signatures for the actors that spoke them. But those trademarks didn't stop at the television screen. No, no, no... we adopted them as one-liners and incorporated them into our everyday conversation. "To the moon Alice!" So what are the best catch phrases of all time? TV Land Cable Network is about to show us. Starting on December 11th, they'll air "The 100 Greatest TV Quotes & Catch Phrases" including favorites from SNL, "Jane, you ignorant slut!", all the way back to those old classics, "Holy mackrel, Batman!" Think you know your catchprases? See if you can place these: "Book'em Danno." "Elizabeth, I'm Coming!" "And that's the way it is" "Just one more thing..." "Live long and prosper." "Now, cut that out!" "Sock it to me!" "That's hot." "Who loves you, baby?" "Up your nose with a rubber hose." "You rang?" Think you've figured them out? Here's the full list, in alphabetical order. Have fun! :)
