Waiting on Another Harry Potter Movie

I love Harry Potter. The magic, the mayhem, the glimpse at another world that we've all secretly imagined but never knew how to find. So, why do we have to wait so long?

From the moment he sent Dudley sprawling into the snake's cage at the zoo to his attempt to save Ron and Fleur Delacour’s sister from the merpeople, I've been in love with Harry Potter.

Is it the magic? The enchantment? His flying broomstick? Yes, yes and yes. Its all those things and more. Harry Potter isn't the dashing quarterback on the football team. He's not the biggest or the strongest or the most self-assured. As he says in The Sorcerer's Stone, "I'm Harry. Just Harry."

And that's what makes him so wonderfully fantastic.

So, you can imagine my delight when I saw the news blurb that Order of the Phoenix was ready for release. Another Harry Potter movie? Yipee! Never mind that I've already read the book. Or that I'll likely read it again with my kids before the movie comes out. The notion that Potter and friends will once again soon grace my screen leaves me... well... just plain giddy.

But July of 2007?

Do we really have to wait so long? The trailers are out as are the clips and snippets that make us hungry for more. Obviously, the movie's pretty well done... couldn't we bump it up just a bit?

Unfortunately, the producers apparently feel different so wait I will. I've got the other four movies to watch again. And of course, there's the books. And who knows? Maybe I'll have mastered the Patronus Charm by then... or maybe not.

Get a sneak peek at the new Harry Potter movie, Order of the Phoenix, here.
