No I'm the Next American Idol

American Idol auditions are coming your way and while I, like most of America will be rooting the contestants on, we all know that the best part is really, really bad.

As American Idol gets ready to kick off its 6th season, two words come to mind: oh my!

Since the premiere of the hottest reality show around, American Idol's best aspects have been well... really bad. The open auditions are full of aspiring Idols who, though certainly equipped with the drive and attitude, lack the vocals to go all the way.

Not that I don't applaude their efforts. I most certainly do. It takes a ton of moxie to go in front of Simon Cowell, knowing that you're likely to get ripped on national television.

But its not the mediocre singers that I'm talking about. Its the ones who are bad, and I mean really bad. The ones who have no rhythm yet try to dance. Who speak their lyrics because they can't carry a tune. They know they're likely to end up on the Best of the Worst collection that's aired during the Grand Finale, yet audition they do and with everything they've got.

And true to our nature, they're the ones we love to watch.

Maybe they're just looking for their 15 minutes of fame. Or maybe they really have big dreams of becoming the next Idol. Who's to say? I know I'm not about to squash those dreams.

We can just leave that to Simon.

If you think you're the next American Idol, you can get all the audition details here.
