» ivygirl - What movie did I leave out?

If you read my article on the all-time best movies, then you know I had a little trouble keeping all my favorites to a manageable list. So, now I post the question to you - which ones did I leave out? What's your favorite flick of all time?

» Filmfan56 - Top 50 Ketel One listing

Good picks for the most part and keeping it to 50 is tough, but some I would put on the list are, "Dial M for Murder" and "Rear Window" from Hitchcock, war flicks:"The Great Escape" with Steve McQueen, "Saving Private Ryan", and "Patton", Drama like "Kramer versus Kramer", "The Philadelphia Story" and "Sunset Boulevard". If "ET" can make this list then "The Sting" should be on it, too. What about "Miracle on 34th Street"? Only one Bogart film on the list? Oh yeah, if you're going to put a silent flick on the list then it has got to be "The General" with Buster Keaton - every cartoon and comedy since this film has copied it's physical gags.

» filmfan99 - 50 Best Films of All Time

Very good list, and holding it to 50 is tough. Three personal favorites that were omitted are "The Big Chill," "Lone Star" and "Mary Poppins." I'd also vote for "Bull Durham," "The Last Waltz" and Fellini's "8 1/2." One the war-movie side, I would add "The Longest Day," "The Victors" and "Schindler's List." I'd even consider "Groundhog Day," a movie I think is generally underrated.
